Intensive Training Activities completed!

Monday, 7 July 2025

On June 18-19-20, the Intensive Training Activities were held in Turin, Italy, hosted by Environment Park and organized by EREB, with the participation of students and other partners (Boğaziçi University, CRETHIDEV, and Tèxtils.CAT). On the first day, trainers gave presentations introducing their institutions and expressing their commitment to circularity and sustainability in the textile sector. They briefed on the tasks they are responsible for and the intellectual outputs they developed under the project. Afterward, the guest speaker Silvia Bernardini lectured on the ‘Textile System between ESG and Circular Transition: Indicators, Governance, and Transformation’.

On the next day, participants formed two groups for the design challenge. In the first session, they developed an idea, and in the second, they created a comprehensive business strategy that encompassed customers, product details, logistics, and funding. Participants exchanged thoughts on sustainability and circularity in textiles, discussing how their businesses can reduce waste and extend product life. Group 1 focused on using hemp in the production of textiles, whilst Group 2 focused on designing swimwear, the parts of which could be rearranged, meeting the ‘reuse’ criterion by forming various styles. On the last day, groups presented their ideas, and partners concluded the event, with innovative ideas hanging on the walls.
