Sustain-TEX is a project dedicated to transforming the European textile industry, addressing environmental challenges and social issues. With a focus on the Green Deal initiative, the project aims to modernize the sector, enhance competitiveness, and meet consumer demands for sustainability. OBJECTIVES

  • Create innovation in teaching methods related to circular economy and sustainability in the textile industry, incorporating life cycle assessment and eco-design as essential components.
  • Develop virtual courses on circular economy and sustainable textiles, utilizing methodologies and knowledge from the Cleantex Project, with the aim of providing tools and guides for the application of circular economy and eco-design.
  • Support trainers in acquiring skills for transdisciplinary innovation based on circular economy and eco-design, specifically focusing on VET (Vocational Education and Training) programs.
  • Enhance the skills of managers and graduated students in the textile sector to engage in transdisciplinary innovation based on circular economy and eco-design.
  • Provide career guidance opportunities through European tools such as EUROPASS for individuals in the textile sector.
  • Encourage and facilitate business start-up opportunities within the sustainable textile sector.
  • Promote the application of good practices to enhance innovative skills within the textile industry.
  • Strengthen collaboration between VETs (Vocational Education and Training) and HEIs (Higher Education Institutions) specializing in textile engineering and other relevant disciplines with the textile industry.
  • Equip VET trainers with multidisciplinary skills to explore innovative solutions, including sustainability, functionalization processes, and digital skills.
  • Respond to the need for practical knowledge by incorporating dynamic and challenge-based approaches to teaching, offering hands-on experience in innovation within the textile industry.
  • Align the SUSTAIN-TEX project strategy with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly focusing on SDG 9 (Industrial Innovation), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
